The website dnvgl.com is owned and operated by the Norwegian registered company DNV GL AS. This Privacy Statement applies to the use of the Website, including the use of our online subscription services.
The Privacy Statement shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with Norwegian law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with the Privacy Statement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts of Oslo. The personal data that you make available to DNV GL on the Website will be processed in accordance with the applicable minimum requirements set out in the Norwegian Personal Data Act and EU personal data legislation.
This Privacy Statement is deemed to be accepted when you access and use (“browse”) the Website.
DNV GL collects anonymous information about every visit to the Website to improve the performance of the site and address security hazards. See below.
Any personal data we collect from you (“the Information”) may be used for the purpose of improving our services, to enable us to contact you with regard to the products and services in which you have registered an interest, to make available targeted information or to reply to and process any requests or orders made (“the Purpose”).
The Information may be provided to other entities within DNV GL for the Purpose. DNV GL consists of DNV GL Group AS with subsidiaries (“DNV GL”). In case of conflict between different language versions of the Privacy Statement, the English version shall prevail.
Collection of anonymous information about visits to the Website
Browsing of the Website
When you visit the Website to browse information it contains, you do so anonymously unless you choose to provide us with information about yourself. Your submission of Information: Completing forms, uploading information on the Website etc

Orders
We request Information from the user on our secure order forms. The user must provide contact information (like name and address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). The Information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, this Information is used to get in touch with the user.
Security
We take market standard precautions to protect the Information. When users submit sensitive information such as credit card numbers etc via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information, that information is encrypted and is protected with market standard encryption software - SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when you are just 'browsing'. While we use SSL encryption to protect the Information online, we also take market standard steps to protect it offline. Access to the Information is given on a need-to-know basis.
Unfortunately, no data transmission or processing can be guaranteed to be 100 % secure. Accordingly, despite our efforts to protect the Information, DNV GL is not in a position guarantee or warrant the security of the Information. Thus, theInformation is submitted at your own risk.

DNV GL may change or update the Privacy Statement without notice. All such changes will take effect once they have been posted on My DNV GL. You agree that it is your responsibility to monitor such updates and that your continued use of My DNV GL after such revisions will constitute your full acceptance of the amendments to the Privacy Statement.
